What's Happening in G&T?
April
So far this month, we've continued our exploration of poetry by visiting a variety of centers. Students experienced illustrating poems by painting the image it created in their minds, reciting poetry together and putting it to a beat/rhythm with some instruments, guessing the mystery object being described by a mystery poem, describing natural objects through observation, creating lines of poetry by mixing and matching words and phrases, and exploring poetic language within a text. Throughout the rest of the unit, students will analyze and write a variety of different styles of poetry.
